Hi everyone, I have setup Lightburn and there is an error of “The laser is busy or disconnected”. The router doesn’t move when the software is started.
Since I’m having issues connecting and controlling my CNC router is it possible the controller is damaged? Is there a test for it?
Two things come to mind. Are you connecting to a laser or a router. If a router normally you would need to use a program like Carveco Maker or Easel to set up toolpaths so that UGS has GCode to run. If you are using a laser have you setup the laser in Lightburn with specific machine settings such as size of work area and what COM port is required to connect to your controller. Also have you loaded the special driver for it to talk to a windows or Mac computer
I’ve been watching multiple YouTube videos and learnt quite a lot about the sequence of how you setup this machine. I need to go through Easel first to complete the set up and create the code on the controller. Once that has been setup I can connect to other programs like Lightburn. The requirements of other software, like wanting to use the laser, parameters need to be altered.
Life has been getting in the way of having fun although I’m feeling more confident that I can get my big shiny toy to come to life soon. My desire to produce amazing things made me skip the basic setup sequence.
